Fix Print Spooler Issue By Altering Print Spooler Properties

A print spooler is an app for the management of paper printing tasks which are assigned by a computing device to either a printer or print server. Sometimes, people may encounter a print spooler service issue when they try to either install a printer or print a paper. If you face print spooler issues, then you can fix it by modifying the print spooler settings.  Here is how you can do that:

1.       Even though not all spooler problems can be solved by altering Print Spooler Properties, there is no harm in trying as it just might be your lucky day. The steps given below can be applied on any Windows version which is XP or newer.
·         Hit the Windows and R keys at the same time.
·         Wait for the Run dialog to pop-up.
·         Enter the following text: services.msc
·         Browse the list and double-click on Print Spooler when you locate it.
2.       On the other hand, you can launch Start. Go to Control Panel, and then click on Administrative Tools tab. After that, select services and click on Print Spooler from the displayed list.
3.       Now you need to stop and restart the service. The options for stopping and starting are present in the Print Spooler Properties page. Certain issues can be troubleshot by first clicking on Stop and then restarting the service. Do not close the window.
4.       Now, just enable the Spooler to begin automatically. Click on the drop-down list in the General tab of Print Spooler Properties (Local Computer) window. Next, to the Start Up type, select Automatic. Doing this will make sure that the print spooler runs when the computer is turned on. Click on the Apply button located at the bottom right-most side of the window.
5.       In the same window, go to Recovery. Now you can modify to what extent print spooler reacts to the issues. A couple of modifications may increase the chance of the spooler troubleshooting the problems, and reduce the risks of spooler crash. Next to First Failure, select Restart the Service. Following Second Failure, choose Restart the Service. Next to Subsequent failures, click on Take No Action. Enter 1 in the box next to Reset fail count after. Enter 1 in the space next to Restart service after. Click on Apply.
6.       Now, you need to stop interaction with desktop. Go to Log On, next to General. Below Local System Account in Log on as, of the box before “Allow service to interact with desktop” is ticked, then untick it. If the box is ticked, then it may create problems, checking the box is not needed anymore. After that, click on the Apply button.
7.       Reboot and retry. Just close all the open windows and restart the system for the changes to be effective. Print a page and see if the issue has been resolved or not.

Hopefully, after following the steps given above, you will be able to solve the issue. If the issue persists then try to restore the default Printer settings and check the user manual if nothing works out.
