Find your Lost iPhone via “Find My iPhone”

Find My iPhone is an easy and free app to set up to use, and probably one of the most estimable apps on your iPhone. This works on almost all of Apple products, so that you enable the tracking of your iPhone when it is lost. If your iPhone has been stolen or you think you may have lost it somewhere, then these steps are possibly going to help you find your device and protect your information. Follow the steps given below:
  1. Go to Find My iPhone on another Apple device. You can do it by launching the mobile app or go to iCloud in the web browser.
  2. Use the Apple ID and Password to sign in. And it should be the same ID you use into your own iPhone.
  3. Note: If you are using the device that belongs to another person, then you will need to tap on the Sign Out option first. You will find it in the upper right corner of the app screen to be able to sign in with your own Apple ID.
  4. Then you will need to tap your iPhone that will appear in the devices’ list under the map. You will then get to see the location of your iPhone on the Map.
  5. Note: If your iPhone has been turned off or the battery has died, then you will get to see the last known location of your iPhone.
  6. Click Actions. You will find this option at the bottom center of the screen.
  7. You can then click Play Sound option, which is likely to be found in the bottom left corner of the screen. Doing so will play a sound to help you locate it if your iPhone is nearby.
  8. Click the Lost Mode. You will find it at the bottom center of the screen. This option is supposed to be used when you think it can be found at the place where you lost it.
  • Now you need to enter an unlock code for your phone. Use a casual number set that’s not tied to you: Not anything that is personal.
  • Then you have to send a message and contact phone number that will be shown on your screen.
  • If your iPhone is connected to internet and online, it may immediately lock and will not be able to be reset without the lock code you’ve set.
  • Then you are going to be able to see your phone’s current location, as well as any of the changes in its location.
  • If your iPhone is not connected to internet and offline, it may lock immediately on power-up.
  • Then you will receive an email notification and will be able to track your phone’s location.
  • From here you can back up your iPhone to iTunes or iCloud on a regular basis, in case it ever requires you to restore wiped out data.
